This is a five-string jazz archtop mandolin made to specification for a friend. It has a carved spruce top, laminated maple and cherry neck, and maple sides and back. The back is a solid piece of curly maple. The scale is 15 inches and the neck width generous for larger fingers. I made the bridge pickup as a humbucker, and the neck pickup is a stacked single coil with a dummy coil for noise cancelling.
