Celtic theme Irish bouzouki

Celtic theme Irish bouzouki

This is an Irish bouzouki with a Celtic knot-style bird on the headstock, and triangle shaped Celtic knots for fingerboard markers and at three main points on the rosette.  The bird inlay is brass, mother of pearl and abalone, and the knots are mother of pearl.  The rosette, bridge, binding, and headstock covering are ebony, the top is Sitka spruce, and the back and sides are paduak.  The neck is a laminate of three sections of maple and two of purpleheart.  The fingerboard is rosewood. 4 courses are tuned GDAE. Chrome tuners with ivoroid buttons. The bridge is a pin bridge with boxwood pins and ebony dots.  Completed in April, 2011.

Greg Ryan has posted an excellent YouTube video of him performing On Paddy’s Green Shamrock Shore accompanied by this bouzouki: On Paddy’s Green Shamrock Shore
